What Makes A Word

Words are an interesting subject.

A song can make somebody cry.

A speech can push a person to action.

A sentence can make a day or break a life.

But words are worthless.

They have no power over us, nor can’t guide our actions.

Instead, the power comes from whatever stock the listener puts in them.

The emotion a person associates with a word is more powerful than the word itself.

A song can make somebody cry because they stuff the lyrics with personal memories and ideals.

A speech can push a person to action because they imbue the words with thoughts of hope and strength that they cannot bear to find within themselves.

A sentence can be life-changing because the word’s meaning is magnified by the emotions relating between the two people, be they friend or foe.

Words have power because we give them power. We fill them to the brim with all the feelings, experiences and trust that we acquired over the course of our lives.

The strength a word has all boils down to the strength we give it. We can let it calmly flow pass or we can treat it like a bullet wound. In the end, it’s your choice.

You are powerful, words are not.
I hear that the best ideas are the ones that you get in the middle of the night. I hope that's true, cause I began and finished this sometime around 2 A.M.

I don't really think this actually needs a description. Hopefully the work speaks for itself.
